A Field Marshal Montgomery Hand Signed Personalized Edition of “Ten Chapters “

A short book , “Ten Chapters 1942 - 1945”, written by Montgomery, Field Marshal B and Published by Hutchinson & Co Ltd, 1945.

This little book is a short and personal record of activities, in outline, from August 1942 to May 1945. Montgomery command of the Eighth Army in the Western Desert of Egypt on 13 August 1942. The German war ended on 8 May 1945. 2. It has been a long journey: from Alamein to the Baltic Sea. At various stages in that journey the Prime Minister, Mr. Churchill, wrote a page in autograph book and recorded his impressions: in his own handwriting. These pages have been photographed, exactly as they were written, and they form the main feature of the book.

Very Good condition. Title in gold relief to front together with two shields. This is a thirty two (32) page booklet recording the activities of The Field Marshal from August 1942 to May 1945. These pages are facsimilies and appear alongside the typescript.

There is a hand written (not facsimile) inscription to the inside cover page penned by Montgomery in attribution to his friend General Sir Brian Robertson.

General Brian Hubert Robertson, 1st Baron Robertson of Oakridge, GCB GBE KCMG KCVO DSO MC DL (22 July 1896 – 29 April 1974) was a senior British Army officer during the Second World War, who played an important role in the East African, North African and Italian Campaigns. After the war he was the Deputy Military Governor of Germany from 1945 to 1948, and then the Military Governor from 1948 to 1949.
