French 1822 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword

An extremely large and impressive sword. Bright slightly cureved steel blade. Four bar brass hilt with wire bound leather grip. Some wear to the lesther on the grip. There is what appears to be a stamp in Arabic to both ghe ricasso and the side of the brass guard. While this is a French pattern sword it is known that these were sold by the French and issued to both the Turkish and in particular the Egyptian armies along with large amounts of chassepot bayonets and this could well be of the same.

1160mm with scabbard.

All steel scabbard that while dent free looks to have once had a covering of corrosion that’s has been cleaned.
