Australia WW2 Whittingslowe Fairbairn Sykes Commmando Dagger
Double edged blade showing obvious signs of sharpening. Heavy age tone and some light surface pitting needing a light clean for improvement. The characteristically Australian cast zine ribbed grip with the usual tell tale cracks. The ricasso on one side stamped with a large “D” arrow “D” and “WE” makers mark for Whittingslowe Engineering . The other side a broad arrow acceptance stamp.
Brown leather sheath maker marked “RG Brown” and dated 1943. This with the same consistent wear as the dagger itself and Leland’s to the fact that these two items have alseays been together.
A rare commmado dagger in an apple ain’t aged condition.
