A fine, lean looking example of the pattern carried by Infantry officers. Wire bound ray skin grip , Nickeled hilt and bowl guard with GVR cypher. The inside of the guard engraved to “Capt J.M. Crofts”.
The blade with some light tone. Marker marked Fenton Brothers of Sheffield. The blade also etched with the GVR cypher.
Comes with its brown leather scabbard and Sam Brown equipment sword frog.
Overall excellent condition.

Further research is certainly needed.
